Vaddy Ratner’s debut In the Shadow of the Banyan has been nominated for an Indies Choice Award

Voting for the 2013 Indies Choice Awards has opened, and the list of finalists features familiar and award-winning titles alongside lesser known books. Cheryl Strayed‘s Wild which also picked up Barnes and Noble’s Discover Award, and Kevin Powers who recently nabbed the Hemingway/PEN Award as well as an American Academy of Arts and Letters prize are among the shortlist as are Eowyn Ivey’s The Snow Child and Susan Cain’s Quiet. Also nominated in the E.B. White Read-Aloud Award category is R.J. Palacio’s Wonder. Check out the Adult book nominees below; click here for the full list.
