Barnes and Noble has had an awful couple of months in the press, but on Wednesday March 6th the bookseller took the time to celebrate writers at their annual Discover Awards ceremony. Wild author Cheryl Strayed and The Orchardist writer Amanda Coplin picked up the non-fiction and fiction prizes, respectively, along with a $10,000 bounty each. Publishers Weekly reports the two runners-up — Katherine Boo’s  Behind the Beautiful Forevers and Kristen Iverson’s Full Body Burden –each received $5,000.
